1. The couple (or Blue Penny Weddings) will take a penny minted in the year of the couple's wedding and drill two small holes on either side of the penny.
2. During the ceremony, the couple will each take turns stamping their partner's first initial into the coin with the tools provided by Blue Penny Weddings. 3. The couple will then thread a ribbon through two holes and tie the penny around a wedding bouquet (or boutonniere.) 4. After the ceremony, the couple may considered framing or scrapbooking the penny. They may also consider holding on to it for their child(ren) as their "something old" for their own marriage celebrations. Alternatively, couples may choose to use Blue Penny Weddings' signature

1. The couple (or Blue Penny Weddings) will find a collection of pennies minted in the year of the couple's wedding. (Many banks will be able to offer entire rolls of new pennies of the same year.) Make sure there is enough for every guest in attendance.
2. As wedding guests arrive, they will be instructed to retrieve a penny from near the entrance of the venue to hold onto during the ceremony. 3. During the Unity Ceremony, the couple will each take turns stamping their partner's first initial into the coin with the tools provided by Blue Penny Weddings. 4. The couple will then deposit the stamped penny into a designated wishing well in front of their guests. 5. At the end of the ceremony, guests are instructed to make a wish on their pennies for the newly-wed couple and deposit them into the wishing well before leaving. |

The Lucky Penny Wishing Well Ceremony or on its own. 1. During the at the start of the reception, the couple will each take turns stamping their partner's first initial into the coin with the tools provided by Blue Penny Weddings. This may also be the same penny from a Unity Ceremonies from earlier.
2. Wedding guests would throw their own good luck pennies on the dance floor at the couple's reception. If the couple chooses to do the Lucky Penny Dance tradition after the Wishing Well, the members of the wedding party may disperse the coins onto the dance floor. This custom dates back to an old Lithuanian tradition. 3. The couple's stamped penny will be thrown onto the dance floor along with the rest of the lucky pennies. 4. At the end of the first dance, the wedding guests pick up all the coins for the newlyweds and put them in a clear vase. Whoever picks up the initialed coin gets to have the next dance with either the bride or the groom. |
